Ariana’s Story
Najib Zahedi began woodcarving over twenty years ago. He is originally from the Panjshir region of Afghanistan. Najib proudly served as a linguist and cultural advisor to the United States as they were fighting terrorism in Afghanistan.
After five years, Najib and his family were granted Special Immigrant Visas, and they relocated to Clarkson, Georgia.
With gratitude for the Special Immigrant Visa program that was established under the Bush administration, Najib hand-carved a presidential seal and presented it to President George W. Bush.
A second seal was created and presented to the United States Congress.
Najib continues to live in Georgia where he creates his quality wood carvings. He is passionate about his work.
Even the tools carry their own stories. Every product that is sold on this site was carved by chisels that were handmade by a master metalsmith when Najib apprenticed in Iran or by Najib himself.
